The designer Miguel Herranz has created a new collection for B.Lux: Parabola. This lamp plays with the parabola effect to project light, whilst integrating its curved reflector into a square frame, which allows it to adapt better to different ambiences and settings. Parabola has rounded corners which provide geometric balance and soften the overall look of the lamp.

Parabola has a mirror in the centre, which hides the fluorescent 55W bulb and prevents glare. Rather than a looking glass, the mirror is designed to give another dimension to the space where the light is fitted. Its reflective qualities help to create a feeling of depth in the space, whilst its position in the centre of the lamp creates a halo of light. The result is an attractive interplay of lights and reflections; a philosophy that evokes the Round light by B.Lux, the inspiration behind the slogan Light is aRound.

The measurements of Parabola are 60 x 60 cm. Owing to its large-scale format, its architectural character and its technical aesthetic, it is designed particularly with business premises in mind, but also integrates perfectly into the home. Miguel Herranz designed it as a wall lamp, because the amount of light it emits is sufficient for this purpose. Although it would deliver a lower lighting performance, Parabola can also be fitted as either a flush or a suspended ceiling light to create ambient lighting.

Parabola is a high quality lighting solution. It is made from brushed injected polyurethane painted in a matt white finish. The polyurethane treatment requires a manual production process. Parabola belongs to the B.Lux DECO collection. It is one of the new designs presented by the Basque firm at the latest edition of Euroluce 2011 Trade Fair.
